Humidity Control for Children

During the year the humidity levels in homes can vary from very dry conditions like the Sahara desert during the winter  to moist conditions like a rain forest. During the winter when the heating is on the dry air can aggravate your child's respiratory system causing coughing.

During the late summer and autumn when there is high humidity, mould can grow and mould spores can be released into the air. These can be inhaled and may cause allergic reactions of wheezing and coughing. It is best to keep the humidity level in your home at about 50%.
