The A'kin Unscented Shampoo combines the gentlest and purest botanical cleansers to ensure your hair and scalp will be soothed and refreshed. Apply small amount to wet hair and rinse.

The A’kin products are vegan, using certified organic ingredients where possible, 100% natural, botanical aromatherapy and formulated without animal ingredients or animal testing.

All products are formulated free from sulfates, ethoxylates, parabens, propylene glycol, petrochemical cleansers, silicones, phthalates, mineral oils, DEA and artificial colours.The shampoo is available in two sizes. The 500ml comes with a pump helping to reduce wastage.

Is it safe to use products with essential oils during pregnancy?
The concentrations of oils in the A'Kin products are safe for use during pregnancy. Safety concerns relate to internal consumption of essential oils.

I have eczema. Which products should I use?
Eczema is a chronic inflammatory condition of the upper layers of the skin. The most common things that will trigger eczema are allergies, both food and environmental, as well as emotional and physical stress and climatic changes. The three main common features of eczema that distinguish it from other ailments are dry skin, sore rash and itchiness. Do your products contain alcohol?
No, we do not use alcohol in any of the A'kin formulations. The reference to "alcohol" on our labels refers to the wax alcohols, behenyl alcohol (made from rapeseed oil) or cetearyl alcohol. Cetearyl alcohol is made from various vegetable oils such as palm and coconut. They bear little relation to common alcohol, which is a volatile liquid.

I am allergic to nuts. Do any of your products with the Healthy House range contain nut oil?
The following products contain small amounts of nut oils: The Unscented 24 hour Pure Moisturiser, the Unscented Body Lotion and the Unscented Intensive Hand Nail & Cuticle Treatment.

Can Coeliacs use A'kin shampoos and conditioners?
Coeliacs Disease (gluten-sensitive enteropathy) is a genetically based permanent intolerance to dietary gluten. The Coeliac Society of NSW have confirmed the external application of gluten (such as hydrolysed wheat protein used in A'kin hair care products) is not a concern for people diagnosed with coeliac disease as gluten must be ingested and reach the small bowel for problems to occur.

Do the A'kin products have an expiry date?
A'kin products have a minimum shelf life of three years and once opened the products should be used within twelve months.
