These filters fit the Bionaire range of BAP air purifiers. They fit the following air purifiers:
  • BAP9240
  • BAP9424
  • BAP242S
  • BAP242
  • BAP412 (also known as the Bionaire Mini Tower)
  • BAP422
  • BAP825RC

The BAP9240, BAP242S, BAP242 and the BAP412 take one filter and the rest of the air purifiers in the BAP range take two filters. The BAP1550 and the BAP1700 have a permanant filter that simply needs vacuuming.

The HEPA/Carbon filter has the following properties:

HEPA Type filter removes 99% of particles down to 2 microns. Examples of particles removed are -

  • Human Hair ......................................... (70 - 100 microns)
  • Human Sneeze Particles................... (10 - 100 microns)
  • Pet Dander .......................................... (0.5 - 100 microns)
  • Pollen ................................................... (5 - 100 microns)
  • Spores from Plants .............................. (6 - 100 microns)
  • Mould...................................................... (2 - 20 microns)
  • Larger Dust Mite Debris ..................... (0.5 - 50 microns)
  • Larger Household Dust..................... (.05 - 100 microns)
  • Larger Skin Flakes.............................. (0.4 - 10 microns)
  • Larger Bacteria.................................... (0.35 - 10 microns)

Activated Carbon Section of the Filter
Because of its super porous texture active carbon is able to attract, adsorb and neutralise smaller particles like organic gases, odours and some chemical compounds. These particles are too small to be trapped by other types of air purifier filters. Activated carbon is a form of carbon that has been treated to make it extremely porous giving it a very large surface area available for the adsorption of chemical compounds. Activated carbon primarily adsorbs organic chemicals along with some larger molecular weight inorganic compounds. One gram of activated carbon has a surface area about one tenth the size of a football field. Activated carbon will remove smells, gases or some chemicals from the air in your home
