Is this sun cream suitable for young babies? I have a two month old who loves spending time in the sun and needs some protection?
The Children's Sun Lotion is suitable for use on babies from birth.

Why do you only offer SPF25?
The sun lotion offers around 96% coverage from UVB rays and a factor 50 would only offer 2% more in coverage. However the SPF number only relates to UVB rays, not UVA, and sun lotion needs to be re-applied regularly to maintain protection from both.

The danger in giving a higher SPF factor gives false confidence to stay out in the sun for longer periods. The UVA rays have a deeper effect in the skin cells and you cannot see the damage this is causing (the UVB rays are the ones that cause the burning on the surface of the skin).

We therefore recommend that you re-apply sun lotion every couple of hours to maintain protection against both UVA & UVB rays. 

Are these sun lotions free from peanuts/nuts or their derivatives?
Yes our sun lotions are free from nut and nut derived ingredients.

Are any of your suncreams suitable for a child with egg, dairy and nut allergy?
Our children’s sun lotion does not contain egg, dairy or nuts.

As per recommendations published in the British Medical Journal, consumers are advised to apply sunscreen using the following guidance.

To gain the sun protection advertised on the tube, you should squeeze out two lines of sun cream along the full length of the underside of your index and middle fingers.

This amount should then be applied to EACH of the following areas every two hours.

• Head, neck and face
• Left arm - Right arm
• Upper back
• Lower back
• Upper front torso
• Lower front torso
• Left upper leg and thigh
• Right upper leg and thigh
• Left lower leg and foot
• Right lower leg and foot

If you do not apply this much, please be aware that the sun cream may not reach its advertised efficacy. Please note that this guidance applies to all sunscreen, not just that from Green People.

"We were on holiday in Jamaica when my daughter's face swelled and we had to take her to a doctor. "I just have to say how amazed I am with your products. I am a doting, first time grandmother of gorgeous little Harry, now aged 11months. "We have been using your Organic Suncreams for our family for a few years now. They are more expensive than the non-organic suncreams, but well worth it not having to worry about what's in the suncream. We went on holiday with family and friends in May (2006).
