It is important that you replace the filter candles in your Wholehouse Water Filter Systems routinely. This will maintain an effective level of filtration, ensuring that your water will be free from contaminants. The range of filter candles will last varying periods of time. The filter replacement times are based upon one person using an average of 150 litres of water per day for drinking, bathing and washing (55,000 litres per year). The reccomended replacement time for each filter candle is displayed below.
- Pre-filter - replace every six months
- Carbon Block cartridge - replace every twelve months
- Heavy Metal filter - replace every twelve months
- Rio2000 Ceramic Filter - replace every 6 to 12 months
The Standard Wholehouse System WH3 will take one Pre-filter and one Carbon Block cartridge. The Standard Wholehouse System WH6 will take one Pre-filter and two Carbon Block cartridges.
The Heavy Metal Wholehouse Water Filter System WH3HM will take one Heavy Metal filter and one Carbon Block cartridge. The Heavy Metal Wholehouse Water Filter System WH6HM will take one Heavy Metal filter and two Carbon Block cartridges.
The Standard Rio System takes one Pre-filter, one Carbon Block cartridge and one Rio2000. The Heavy Metal Rio System takes one Pre-filter, two Carbon Block cartridges and one Rio2000
The Pre-filter will remove particles from the water coming into your house down to 0.5 of a micron thus protecting your carbon block cartridge

Independent Quality Control Testing
The wholehouse filters are manufactured with ISO9001: 2000 Quality Assurance. NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), WRAS (Water Regulatory Advisory Scheme) and The Water Quality Association use a very strict set of criteria to continually monitor the filter candles and performance of the undersink units.

Replacing the filters
The Pre-filter should be replaced every six months and the Carbon Block cartridge should be replaced every twelve months. This applies to both units so that the two Carbon Block cartridges on the WH6 both need to be replaced annually.

When you purchase your water filter we will put your name onto our filter reminder service so that you can keep your water filter functioning effectively.
