We are pleased to be able to offer the Roomaid again, an old favourite with our chemically sensitive customers. The Roomaid is a compact metal unit that is coated with a baked on finish and will clean the air in a room up to 22.5 sq m 3 times an hour. The unit runs economically on 12 volt power and comes with its own transformer. With the optional Multizorb filter canister this is a very effective particle and chemical air purifier. The Roomaid is our only metal air purifier and therefore suitable for anyone sensitive to plastics. With the addition of the car conversion cable, the Roomaid can also be used in the car, held in firmly using a seatbelt.
The Roomaid is a highly efficient air purifier with either a 3 or 4 stage filter system. It comes as standard with the first three filters. You can then chose either the VOC filter canister or the Multizorb filter canister depending upon your sensitivities and the level of contaminants you wish to remove.
1. The washable pre filter surrounds the unit and will remove large particles that are suspended in the air. This both cleans the air and lengthens the life of the HEPA filter.
2. The high efficiency True HEPA filter will remove 99.9% of particles down to 0.3 microns. The HEPA filter will remove dust, pollen, animal dander, cigarette smoke, radon daughters and even particles as small as bacterias and viruses.
3. The activated carbon blanket is a roll that fits within the unit. It removes organic odours including those from cooking, pets, disinfectants, detergent, creosote, stale odours and tobacco smoke.
4. The optional VOC filter canister is made of granulated carbon which gives a much bigger surface area than the carbon blanket and gives a greater removal capacity for removing carbon monoxide, fuel gases, hydrogen, propane, methane, noxious gases, radon gases and plastic.
5. The optional Multizorb filter canister has the same filter capacity as the VOC filter with the additional removal of ammonias, heavy metal vapours such as mercury, arsenic and lead, formaldehyde, aldehydes, acidic gases such as sulphur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide.
The motor runs on 12 volts DC. and has 2 speed settings. A transformer is included.
VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are chemical solvents that are used in cleaners, paints, carpets, furniture and furnishings.

Replacing the filters
In order for an air purifier to function effectively the machine must be kept clean and the filters replaced regularly and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
