The Gravity Water Filter is a portable unit and needs no plumbing in. It is an ideal way to benefit from filtered water “on tap” especially if you are travelling or living in rented accommodation. It sits on the counter top providing plenty of water for each day and can be refilled at night for the next day’s supply.

The upper container is filled manually with water which then filters down to the lower container passing through the filter candles. This can then be accessed via the tap at the bottom of the unit. The lower tank has a capacity of 8 litres. It takes one hour for 1 litre to pass through the filters. Please allow longer when using for the first time.

The Gravity Water Filter comes with a choice of either standard or heavy metal filters.

With Standard Filters
The Gravity Water Filter Standard will remove in excess of 97% of free chlorine, 99.999% of pathogenic organisms such as bacteria: E-coli, cholera, typhoid and cysts: cryptosporidium and giardia. The Super SterasylTM filters will also reduce chemicals - see Contaminant Removal tab.

With Heavy Metal Filters
The Gravity Water Filter with Heavy Metal Filters will remove all of the above contaminants plus heavy metals.

Quality standards

Each of the manufacturers of the water purification products we sell has had independent quality control approvals by independent organizations such as NSF International standard 42 and 62 and WRAS approval ensuring that product performance claims are verified to the highest standard.

The filter candles should be replaced every nine months for two people and every six months for four people. The Gravity Water Filter is supplied unassembled with full instructions. The housing measures 20.9cm in diameter and 53cm high and comes with one year guarantee.

Heavy Metal Filter Candle

This filter has all the specifications of the Super Sterasyl filter above with added filtration to remove heavy metals. It will remove all heavy metals but with a higher specification for lead. This means that lead takes priority and if there is only a small amount of lead it will also remove other heavy metals.

Replacing the filters
The filters in the Gravity Water Filter will need replacing every six months for four people in the house and every nine months for two people.

It is important to replace the filter candles in your water filter system on a regular basis. When you purchase your water filter we will put your name onto our filter reminder service so that you can keep your water filter functioning effectively.
