The importance of having the correct humidityIf your house is too damp and the relative humidity level is too high then not only does mould develop but it can encourage dust mites to proliferate in carpets and mattresses. Conversely, if the humidity level is too low it can cause discomfort in the respiratory airways and cause coughing, frequent colds, sore throats and sinusitis amongst other symptoms. The recommended relative humidity level is 40% - 60%. Dehumidifiers can be used in the home or office, for drying out after a flood, for storage rooms, conservatories and for drying laundry. |
