Many modern homes are filled with communication and entertainment devices. These include DECT phones, Wi-Fi routers, laptops and games consoles. They emit electromagnetic fields which may provoke unpleasant symptoms if you are electrically sensitive. Long-term, the effects of being exposed to high levels of these fields in our homes are as yet unknown.
If you'd like to reduce your exposure to radio-frequency EMFs you first need to know where the fields are and what level they are at. The Acoustimeter gives you a clear, accurate indication of the level of EMF radiation. You can use this information to rearrange furniture or the devices that emit high fields.
The Acoustimeter accurately measures the totality of the EMF radiation in the range 200 MHz to about 8000 MHz (8 GHz). This covers the frequencies used by most modern communication systems in our everyday environment.
This instrument demonstrates the levels of EMF radiation using sound, text and LED lights. It makes it incredibly easy to use and understand.
The readings are shown on both an LCD display and two scales of graduated LED lights. The LEDs update rapidly, and allow you to quickly gauge the levels in an area and find any hot-spots. The LCD display offers high accuracy with a lower update speed, giving you time to take note of the readings. It also has a speaker allowing you to determine what type of device is creating the levels that are present. It has an audio output socket for headphones or to feed to an audio recorder. Sound samples are available on the "Hear the Sounds" tab to help you identify what kind of signal your Acoustimeter is measuring.
If you are very electrically sensitive and react to even very small levels of radio-frequency EMFs, the Acoustimeter can help. It is sensitive down to just 0.02V/m and the sound output enables you to hear the signal modulation. The user manual offers a guide to what level of frequencies can provoke ill-effects in electrosensitive individuals.

The Accoustimeter is lightweight and handheld so it is easy to transport around the home. If you need to use it quietly or listen more closely, the audio output socket allows you to use headphones.
