Combines photo-catalytic oxidation with HEPA and carbon filtration to deliver unparalleled results

To deliver superior results, the Viruskiller VK Blue employs a variety of filtration and sterilisation technologies. This combination enables the destruction or capture of even the tiniest particles and allergens.

So how does it achieve these kinds of results? First, a complex filter set comprising a washable pre-filter, a carbon filter, a medium filter and a thick HEPA filter tackles the larger particles. Then, the photo-catalytic oxidation technology (as seen in the Radic8 air sterilisers) takes on bacteria, viruses and gases.

The layers of nano filter tubes in the filter chamber are coated with titanium dioxide (a photo-catalyst) which reacts with the UVC lights inside the chamber. This reaction creates hydroxyl radicals (sometimes known as ‘super oxidants’). These hydroxyl radicals destroy the cells of impurities like bacteria, odours and allergens, breaking them down into harmless water and carbon dioxide.

Unlike the Radic8 which sends the hydroxyl radicals out into the air, in the Viruskiller they are contained within the machine. The active carbon within the nano filter tubes captures gases and smells, allowing the hydroxyl radicals to break them down. The fan which propels the air through the air steriliser is extremely powerful to ensure efficacy, with built-in silencers to keep the noise levels to a minimum. The machine also gives off zero ozone.

The Viruskiller VK Blue has been vigorously tested to ensure it lives up to its claims, by various universities and medical research centres.

*Although this air purifier is able to remove radon gas, it is not a full property radon mitigation solution.

The reactor cell requires replacement after approximately 8000 hours, at the latest after 36 months (depending on use). This can be fitted at home within around 15 minutes and comes with detailed step-by-step instructions (click here to download a PDF). The HEPA filter is recommended to be changed every 4000 hours (the air steriliser will indicate when filter replacement is required). The pre-filter is washable.

We will be able to supply you with your required replacements. We maintain stock levels of filters and cartridges even after a manufacturer may bring the original unit to an end. This means our customers can rest assured of our commitment to servicing their requirements long into the future.
