Many people mistakenly believe they are allergic to down and feathers when they are actually reacting to either dust mites or bacteria within a filling.

Why are these feather duvets different?

The sanitised feathers of our Danish-made summer duvet help to remove concerns about excess bacterial growth, dust mites and their allergens - allowing you to enjoy a cool night’s sleep.

A great companion to our Danish All Year duvets, this lightweight duvet (tog 4.5) is great for summer nights and is machine washable at 60 C.

How are the feathers washed?

The fresh feathers (made up of 90% new European duck and 10% small feathers) undergo a special sanitisation treatment called Downafresh®.

This is a vigorous process of washing (up to 8 cycles around 1 hour long each), drying at over 100 degrees C, disinfection and thorough testing at a laboratory to ensure that they meet strict hygiene standards.

At the end of the process the filling in your bedding is perfectly clean and hygienic, free from residual keratin and bacteria.

 Dust mite proof

Due to the extremely tight weave of the cotton cover fabric the dust mites cannot break through and colonise the duvet - proven as it carries the official NOMITE®mark.

The duvet also carries the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 which means it is certified free from harmful substances and suitable for people with chemical sensitivities.

Manufacturer, Ringsted Dun also produce the Danish All Year Round Bed Set where the feathers are sterilised, heat treated and de-dusted for optimum hygiene.
