National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) the NHS watchdog are calling for the elimination of the use of trans fats in the food in the England. They are also requesting a reduction in the amount of salt and saturated fats in prepared foods. NICE experts say that between 40,000 and 150,000 deaths a year are "eminently preventable". "The artificial fats are often found in biscuits, cakes and fast food - but they can damage health.
