DermaSilk Clothing for Eczema

Lady with eczema sleeveSpecialist underwear and nightwear for skin conditions

DermaSilk therapeutic clothing has been specially designed for eczema and other skin conditions, such as contact dermatitis. The knitted antimicrobial medical-grade silk offers optimum protection with less irritation than standard fabrics (even cotton).

DermaSilk helps to reduce the chance of infection and halts the itch/scratch cycle. The therapeutic effects of these eczema garments are clinically proven, with 83% of the children in one trial showing an improvement in their atopic dermatitis from wearing DermaSilk, compared to none of the children wearing cotton.

Choose from a wide range of undergarments, socks, gloves and nightwear. Learn more about DermaSilk eczema clothing here.

How can DermaSilk clothing help you?

Normal fabrics can often make eczema and other itchy skin conditions even worse. The fibres in most standard fabrics can cause friction against already sensitive, broken skin, causing further irritation. Even cotton, which is widely regarded as being a gentle clothing material for eczema, does not compare to DermaSilk in terms of its therapeutic properties.

Unlike standard fabrics DermaSilk has been created specifically for itchy and irritating skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Here’s what’s unique about DermaSilk:

  • It maintains an ideal microclimate inside the clothing, regulating heat and allowing skin to breathe like a ‘second skin’.
  • It retains up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, helping to reduce irritation and promote healing
  • Non-toxic Microbial Shield technology offers antimicrobial protection (bacteria and fungi can further irritate eczematous skin) throughout the life of the clothing
  • It is free from synthetic dyes, which can sometimes trigger allergic reactions.
  • It is incredibly discreet and can be worn as a replacement for regular nightwear and undergarments
  • Every part of the design is carefully chosen to minimise irritation – right down to soft seams and nickel-free buttons.
  • The ultra-gentle fabric is suitable for everyone, from newborns to the elderly

Which skin conditions can DermaSilk help with?

DermaSilk clothing can help you to manage a variety of conditions, including

  • Atopic eczema
  • Gravitational eczema
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Thrush
  • Jock itch
  • Lichen sclerosus
  • Menopausal skin conditions
  • Burns from cancer treatment

How do I care for my DermaSilk clothing?

DermaSilk garments require gentle care, so don’t use fabric softeners, fabric conditioners or bleaches. Hand wash with a mild non-bio detergent, rinse well and lay flat to dry on a towel. Alternatively, put your garment in a protective net bag and machine wash at 30. Creases can be removed with a cool steam iron.
