This beautiful hotel quality pillow is a perfect blend of 70% European goose down and 30% European goose feather and provides a slightly softer support than a feather pillow. These pillows are great on their own but also provide a great layering option when making your bed look warm and inviting. The piped and double stitched edges ensure that this pillow has been finished with quality in mind.
The feather proof cotton percale case is breathable but tightly woven to give you quality dust mite proof bedding which will help stop the wheezing and sneezing caused by dust mites in your pillow. Dust mites may be found on the surface of the pillow. The pillow may be sprayed with Homecleanse to kill any dust mites and denature other allergens. Wash by hand or machine wash with a minimum amount of powder and no fabric conditioner.
Both the filling and the case are Oeko-Tex standard 100 certified - free from harmful chemicals. They also carry the NOMITE and Downafresh certification which makes them a very popular choice.

You’ll love these beautifully soft and lightweight goose down and feather duvets that offer a truly superior quality and comfort, using the lightest and warmest filling of 85% European goose down and 15% goose feather. The 70% Goose Down with 30% Goose Feather Pillows are also soft and lightweight but with enough structure for a good nights sleep, with a choice of soft, medium or firm pillow
The goose down gives more warmth with less weight than duck down for a refreshing night's sleep and its pocketed construction spreads the warmth across the duvet, preventing cold spots. The edge is double stitched and piped for extra security. This light and super soft white goose down duvet will give years of comfortable sleep at an affordable price. The 70% goose down and 30% feather pillow is encased in a 100% cotton cover also with a 233 thread count. The casing is double stitched and has a piped edging.

Daunasan® and Downafresh® are trademarks of the registered Association of the European Bedfeather and Bedding Industries documenting that the filling material complies with the European standard EN 12935 (“feather and down – hygiene and cleanliness requirements“). Companies using these brands have the down and feathers they process tested at a hygiene laboratory and document the origin and processing of the filling material.
Bedding products marked with the Downafresh brand are filled with feathers and down that were previously washed with water and dried at temperatures of at least 100°C. Hence, bedding products which carry the Downafresh label meet the hygienic requirements laid down in the European standard EN 12935.
Feathers and down are a product of nature. They are produced according to strict statutory provisions and originally do not contain any harmful substances. Their natural properties – they weigh little and keep you comfortably warm without burdening you – make for outstanding heat insulation. They are thus the perfect filling material for bedding products.
By means of a documentary traceability system it is established that the filling material was gathered in conformity with current animal welfare legislation.
During the processing only environment-friendly cleaning agents are applied which preserve the natural properties of the feathers and down. At the end of the product life cycle the filling material can easily be recycled.
The producers who use the Downafresh® label have undertaken to have their products regularly tested by an independent testing laboratory to ensure that they meet the requirements for hygiene and cleanliness.
The NOMITE mark indicates that a product is suitable for house-dust-mite-allergy sufferers because down and feather-filled products offer excellent thermal and climatic conditions for humans (rapid warming up when one is sleeping, rapid decrease in humidity when the bedding is aired), they provide a very poor habitat for house dust mites, which rely on high humidity to live.
The tight weave of the down and feather proof fabric acts as a barrier preventing the mites from passing through and offers, thus, additional protection. So that also those who suffer from house dust allergies or asthma can enjoy the natural comfort afforded by down and feather bedding. This has been demonstrated by scientific research.
How can you ensure that the textile product you are buying is free from harmful substances and chemical treatments?
If you have allergies or multiple chemical sensitivity, this may be a question you ask yourself frequently. Thankfully, there are a number of independent certifications that can offer you reassurance.
One of these is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This is an independent certification, established in 1992. The aim of this certification is to show that a textile product (from bedding to clothing) poses no risk to your health.
When you buy a product with the OEKO-TEX® label, you can be reassured that it is kind to your skin, free from harmful chemical treatments. It is a vigourous testing process which gives you peace of mind, so you can buy textiles with confidence.
The closer a textile product comes to your skin, the stricter the requirements it must fulfil.
The certification goes above and beyond existing legislation, forbidding chemicals which are known to be harmful to health but not officially banned. All in all, the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a great quality seal to look for when you're shopping for clothing or bed linen, particularly if you have chemical sensitivity or skin allergies.
OEKO-TEX® certified materials are internationally and scientifically tested. The OEKO-TEX® logo certifies excellent human ecology. Strict testing and controlling parameters assure a constant high quality of the products. Working together with notable testing institutes, a fully integrated quality control system has been developed.
Whilst some finished products are certified, other products are made up of only certified materials. This means that the product itself has not been tested but the components have been tested and certified. Since there is a fee for all certifications, it is usually the products that are supplied and manufactured by smaller companies that have the individiual components tested but not the finished product. We have given the specifications on these products as Oeko-tex standard because there are only Oeko-tex certified materials used.
Sometimes we are asked why a particular product does not have a label on it to say that it is Oeko-tex standard. Again it is usually the larger manufacturers who provide labels on their products because the price of producing labels for individual products can be prohibitive for smaller manufacturers - it would also have to be reflected in a higher retail price.
We are always happy to answer questions about the certifications of the products we offer, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need verification.
Siberian, Hungarian and European products should not be over washed or over cleaned. These are premium down products and as such should be treated with the utmost care to minimise the risk of damage through excessive laundering. Use of protectors on pillows is advised to minimise laundering.
If your washing machine cannot accommodate your duvet / pillow with enough space to ensure that items are rinsed sufficiently, we recommend professional laundering (not dry cleaning).
Machine wash at 40oC on a gentle cycle using a small amount of mild detergent. Do not use fabric conditioner, bleaching agents or optical whiteners. These agents will damage or coat the down clusters and fibres and reduce their insulating and loft properties.
Tumble dry on low to medium heat using two dryer balls or tennis balls. Tumble dry for short periods of time, take out, shake, repeat. Continue until you are sure the item is completely dry. Do not air dry as moisture can be retained deep inside the duvets and pillows which can lead to mustiness.
DO NOT LEAVE DUVET OR PILLOW WET OR DAMP
No ironing, no mangling or hot pressing and no chemical additives.
