Skin & Tonic was created by Sarah (trained in Aromatherapy and Skincare Formulation) and her boyfriend Josh after noticing the amount of nasty synthetic chemicals found in popular high-street skincare brands. They believe that when it comes to skincare simple is best. There is no need for parabens, ETDAs, mineral oils, dioxins, phalates, gender discrimination, cheap labour and excessive, wasteful packaging.
This company does things simply, honestly and ethically, creating organic and sustainable skincare using no more than just 7 ingredients.
Each organic ingredient in the range has been carefully chosen for its therapeutic properties. They use oils from plants grown to Soil Association organic standards. They use ingredients packed full of antioxidants, nutrients and omegas, helping fight free radicals. Anyone can use these products; whether you’re male or female, have dry or oily skin, Skin & Tonic make their products as unisex and multifunctional as possible.
Skin & Tonic believe in doing business in an honest and sustainable way – their mantra is “People, Planet and THEN Profit”. They practise what they preach, too:
We came across Skin & Tonic on Twitter after reading positive reviews on their products from prominent bloggers within the allergy/skincare community (see this glowing review on Steam Clean by blogger Hello Purple Clouds).
We visited their website and were very impressed with their commitment to organic, simple skincare and putting as few toxins into the body as possible – a philosophy that we share here. Their ethical credentials and green ethos is refreshing and, after Sarah sent us some samples to try and even those in the office with very sensitive skin loved it, we quickly decided that we wanted to work with this brilliant brand.
